Results of Previous surveys

The ninth survey question was: Are you aware of services in your community for someone who is feeling suicidal?
The results of our ninth survey showed that :
65% answered Yes	30% answered NO	5% answered Unaware

The eigth survey question was: Is suicide in youth mainly associated with mental illness?
The results of our eigth survey showed that :
50% answered Yes	50% answered NO	0% answered No Opinion

The seventh survey question was: If someone makes a suicide attempt, or dies by suicide, they must have had a mental illness
The results of our seventh survey showed that :
22% answered Yes	76% answered NO	2% answered No Opinion

The sixth survey question was: Did you attended any activities for Suicide Prevention Day, September 10, 2010
The results of our sixth survey showed that :
26% answered Yes	48% answered NO	26% answered Unaware of Any

The fifth survey question was:Has your family been affected by suicide.
The results of our fifth survey showed that :
60% answered YES	40% answered NO

The fourth survey question was: Suicide Prevention involves many factors. To help focus our efforts, please indicate the highest priority for you by selecting (click on) one of the following items Public Awareness, Training for front-line professionals, Research.

66% selected Public Awareness	24% selected Training for front-line professionals	10% selected Research

The third survey question was: What is your opinion about the following question: Should there be legislation making Internet Service Providers legally liable for what they allow on their web sites?
The results of our third survey showed that 72% who took part in the survey agreed, 15% disagreed and 8 % had no opinion.

The second question was: What is your opinion about the following statement? The stigma associated with suicide is a barrier to seeking help.
The results of our second survey question showed that 92% who took part in the survey agreed, 7% disagreed and 1 % had no opinion.

The first survey question was: “The Ministry of Health and Long Term Care is currently developing a 10-year Strategy for Mental Health and Addictions. The Ontario Association for Suicide Prevention believes we need a stand-alone Ontario Suicide Prevention Strategy.”
The results of our first survey question showed that 91% who took part in the survey agreed, 7% disagreed and 2 % had no opinion.
